Memories of the Salt Air
This is a print from a textile wall hanging that is in the permanent collection of The Hermitage Artist Retreat in Florida. The image includes various flora and fauna seen on the Gulf Coast of Florida, including baby sea turtle, brown pelican and ink berry shrub, painted on the backdrop of an ancient map of Charlotte Harbor when it was originally settled by Spanish Explorers. Hand Embroidery on the original textile represents the flow of the air and water to suggest the never-ending cycles of life.
